Speeding up Microsoft Internet Explorer

One easy way to speed up Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 is to turn off any automatic settings detection. To do this, run IE and choose Tools|Internet Options. When the Internet Options dialog box opens, click the Connections tab. Now, click LAN Settings. Deselect the check box labeled 'Automatically detect settings' and click OK to close the dialog box and keep your selection. Click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box. If 'Automatically detect settings' is already deselected, then you can just click Cancel.
